Our Story
We started out as students—curious about the culture behind the anime, manga, and games we already loved. But traditional classes and textbooks felt disconnected from how we actually experienced Japanese. Memorizing lists and rigid rules didn’t help us understand what we were hearing.
So we began developing a different approach that makes Japanese easier to understand, easier to remember, and natural to use. We believe learning a language should be fun, interesting, and something that makes you want to keep exploring more of it.
What are Japanese Trainers?
Kimino Academy focuses on Language Training. Training means learning how Japanese is actually used, not just how it’s explained in books. With a Japanese Trainer, students are never learning alone—they’re guided step by step.
Trainers help students move from understanding Japanese to using it naturally, while also sharing the way people think and communicate in Japan. It’s not just about knowing Japanese, but feeling comfortable and confident using it.

What we believe.
We believe the best way to learn Japanese is the same way native speakers did—by hearing it, seeing it, and using it in real context. Anime, manga, shows, games, and storybooks aren't just entertainment; they're how Japanese naturally appears in daily life.
At the same time, structure matters. Our Japanese Trainers have a strong traditional foundation, including the Minna no Nihongo syllabus, and use it to teach Japanese through modern media. They guide students on what's actually used in real life, so learning stays clear and practical.
What is the JLPT?
The JLPT (Japanese-Language Proficiency Test) is the world’s most recognized exam for Japanese ability, testing reading, listening, and grammar. Passing shows you can confidently use Japanese and can open doors to studying abroad in Japan, career advancement, or even higher pay in certain roles.
